Ole Miss Football

This year we carried Garrett to the Ole Miss/Auburn game.  He loved it---the popcorn, nachos, Sprite, peanuts, and the band---much more so than the actual game.

Too tired to walk anymore :)

New Orleans

We went to New Orleans this past weekend to watch the Rebels play football.  We stayed at Le Pavillon, a few blocks from the Superdome, a few blocks from Bourbon, and few blocks from the river.  My first impression was that I didn't think I was going to like staying there--It is an older hotel where the rooms are updated, but decorated in an older era.  By the end of our stay, I really enjoyed the hotel and how different it is to all the newer, modern rooms we are used to--even with the stories of ghost on our floor!  I think I can say this has been Garrett's favorite hotel so far--and he has stayed at his fair share.  Every night at 10:30 in the lobby, they server peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, milk, hot chocolate and marshmallows, and coffee.  Both nights we were there he and Kaki made their way to the lobby to have a snack.

One happy boy!

Go Rebels!

I have no idea where this picture was taken, but I do love the background.  I am sure that we were people watching wherever it is!

Weekend in NOLA

Last Thursday morning, we left for a long weekend trip to New Orleans.  Bo and I had tickets to the Saints/Vikings game and the Ole Miss/Tulane game.  We took Mim and Aunt P to help us look after Garrett.

We left about 8 a.m., so we had to wake Garrett up because he normally sleeps until at least 9.

We walked through the Riverwalk mall to get a bite to eat before going to the ball game, and Garrett found this bear parked on a bench and wanted to pet it.

We wore Saints apparel, but we were both secretly rooting for Brett Favre and the Vikings!!  However, we are still Saints fans!!

Friday morning, we walked to Cafe Du Monde, and it was well worth the long, hot walk!!
The beignets were fabulous.

Walking the streets in the French Quarter-and yes, we had a very close eye on him!

Mim and Garrett at Pinkberry, the best frozen yogurt we've ever had.  It was so wonderul, we went back on Saturday too!!
You must try it, if you are ever around one!!
