The snow didn't last long, but after 30 years of waiting, I'll take what I can get :)

The Mountains

The weekend before Christmas, we took a short vacation to Asheville, NC.  We took a detour through Nashville to see the lights at the Opryland Hotel.  And they were absolutely beautiful!!!

The first 3 pictures are outside and you can see them when you pass by the Opryland Hotel on the Interstate!!

These are inside the Magnolia area of the hotel

Gram and Papa went with us.

We found an area over to the side and let Garrett run wild since he had been in the car so long!!
And he loved running!!!

This picture is in the Conservatory area.

Beautiful poinsettia tree in the Magnolia lobby

The next day, we made it to the Grove Park Inn in Asheville...

and Garrett was ready to play!!

Bundled up and ready to get supper!!

Each year, the Grove Park Inn host a gingerbread contest and they always have them on display in different areas of the hotel.  Here are a few pics of some of our favorites.

Amazing what creativity some people have with food!!

Every night when we got back from supper, we would sit in the lobby and wait on a rocking chair to come open so we could sit in front of this fireplace.

The first full day we were there, Bo and I went skiing about 30 min away and neither one of us trusted ourself with the camera.

This is the view from the balcony off of the lobby at the Grove Park Inn at sunset.

This is a waterfall that is outside of the spa area of the hotel.

Garrett found him a window sill to take a rest.

They had this Christmas display set up in the unused fireplace area.

We toured the Biltmore!!
