The decor

I tell myself every year that I am not going to have a party where the decor is so hard to find, but it seems that I talk myself into doing it anyway.  I started with a train outfit that Garrett had this summer and went from there because the only train party supplies you can find these days are Thomas--and Thomas is mostly red and blue, and the party last year was mostly red and blue--and we just couldn't have the same color scheme 2 years in row!  So I got MG Paperworks to design all of the paper products and I decorated around that.   I think everything turned out fantastic!

The Party!

This year we decided to have Garrett's party at the Circle Y so that the older kids could jump on the bouncers, and Garrett could enjoy the train ride.  What fun everyone had!!  My only complaint is that they don't play with the 2 hour time frame--There was a party that ended the time that Garrett's started and one that started the time that our's ended.  So they leave no extra time to get the decorations up or down, which left one momma worn OUT!!  There would have been no way I could have done it all by myself, so THANK YOU to those who helped.

Landry made it to Garrett's party :)

In two hours we bounced,

sang "Happy Birthday,"

had snacks,

opened presents,

Bubba and Meme

Pop and Kaki

 and rode the choo choo.

When we got all the presents home, it was play time.

Getting his television from the grandparents.

What a wonderful day this little boy had for his 2nd birthday!! I mean you only turn 2 once, right?

The birthday boy

This 2 year old woke up with all smiles and red stained co-cone around his mouth from the night before at the Pollard's.

We had breakfast from McDonald's and gave him his presents from Daddy and Mama.

A bean bag--but who would have guessed he would use it as a jumping bag.

And Cars house shoes that match Spot's.
And yes, that is a Swifer duster in the picture with him.  He insists that it stay out so he can 'mop.'

Then it was time to rest up for the big party.

County Fair

Garrett's birthday celebration tonight was going to the county fair.
His favorite was the Cars ride and the choo choo train, and...

...the blue ice

Good stuff!

Let the celebration begin!

Somehow over the years, our family has turned a birthday celebration into a week long event, and Garrett will be no exception.  I'm thinking Bo may have come up with this idea because it just doesn't sound like something Paige or I would do.  Anyway....

Last night, we took Garrett to Build A Bear where he adopted a puppy named Spot.

He wanted to carry Spot all by himself!

Then we played for a little bit...

I think somebody is tired!

Picking Peas

A few weeks ago, we went to Nanny's garden and helped her pick and put up peas.

And boy did she have good help!

He was interested just long enough to take pictures, then he was ready to go play on the 4-wheeler!
