Pawty Time!!

Our sweet Garrett turned 1 on Friday, Aug. 20!! We celebrated by having a puppy party!!  It seemed to be the appropriate theme since puppies and cell phones are his main interest. 

Family came to the house to help us celebrate.  Garrett got LOTS of new toys, clothes, and money!!

Garrett also went for his one year check-up last week and weighed 21 lb, 12 oz (just above the 25th percentile).  He was 29 3/4 in tall (around 50th percentile).

Fun at Fairpark

Paige and I took Garrett to play in the fountains at Fairpark yesterday, and he loved it. 

Atlanta Fun!!

All summer Bo has been wanting to go to a theme park or water park, so we decided to take a small trip to White Water in Atlanta.  We arrived at our hotel in Marietta, GA, where the water park is located, around 6:30 p.m. to find that a few rooms had flooded, and we were apparently some of the last to check in for the evening.  The hotel made arrangements and paid for us to stay at a nearby hotel for the night and assured us a room the following night.  All I could think at this point was that I am fixing to spend three nights in 3 different hotels with Garrett!!!  I just kept telling myself, we get to stay one night for FREE.  

We made it to our new hotel room, freshened up, and had dinner at the Marietta Diner.  It is such a neat place with a LARGE menu.  They have just about anything you could possibly want.

Garrett played on the bed while I got things ready for the water park and packed everything back up to check out the next morning.

The water park opened at 10 a.m., so we decided to try to be in line about 9:45 so that we would be able to purchase a cabana for the day since my original plan, carrying Garrett back to the hotel when he got ready for his afternoon nap, would no longer work unless I wanted to tackle finding the hotel, checking in, and unloading luggage with just Garrett and me.  I don't think so!!!

So, at 8:30, we checked out of the hotel, loaded up luggage, got a biscuit, and headed for the water park.  We made it in line to the park at 9:45.  Thankfully, the cabanas did not become so popular to everyone else until it was blistering hot because we were able to walk right up to the desk and rent one when we got in the park.   There is no way we would have made it through the day without it.  We opened the park up at 10 and stayed until they closed at 7, and there were still some slides that we didn't get to ride.

We forgot to carry the camera all day, so as we were leaving we stopped by to take a few pics.

They had already turned off the water to this area, so this was just the water that was still draining.  Garrett enjoyed that as much as the full power.

After the park closed, we checked in our original hotel, took showers, and headed back to the Marietta Diner for supper.

When we got back from supper, I was once again getting things layed out for the next day and packing back up because we had decided to stay our last night in Buckhead so that we could eat at the Cheesecake Factory and shop, and we had the Georgia Aquarium on the agenda for early the next day.

After the aquarium, we had lunch in the CNN Center.  We then went to tour the World of Coca-Cola.

After a busy day in downtown Atlanta, we made our way to Buckhead.  We enjoyed supper at Cheesecake Factory and then made a round through Target.  The next morning we slept in late, had lunch in the mall beside our hotel, made a quick tour through the mall, and then headed home.

4th of July Weekend

For Garrett's first July 4th, we had a whole weekend of celebrating. 

On Saturday, we had the Green family over for lunch and an afternoon of swimming.  We had lots of wonderful food, the kids enjoyed the pool, and the adults enjoyed the shaded porch with ceiling fans.

We watched the fireworks at the country club that night, but Garrett fell asleep on the way there.

On Sunday, the 4th, we had a  pretty normal day, church, lunch at Nanny's, and naptime.

Sunday night we went with some family to watch fireworks at Pickwick.  They were WONDERFUL!  Some of the best that we have seen around here.  Garrett loved them!!

10 months on Father's Day

Garrett turned 10 months old on Father's Day. We had a very busy day visiting the wonderful men in our life.  We took Papa D and Papa out to eat lunch at Cracker Barrell.  Garrett ate a whole serving of mac and cheese along with some pieces of a biscuit.  Then, we carried Pop out to eat supper at McAlisters.

My First Fathers's Day!

At dusk, we went to Nanny's house to watch her Evening Primrose flowers bloom for the night.  It was so amazing to watch them bloom.  They were beautiful!

Yeah!!! The flowers are blooming. Garrett was so busy, he did not want to be still to get his picture taken.

Keeping up with the Green's...

Well, we have finally decided to give in and join the blogging world or maybe I should say that "I" have decided to join!  I am excited about keeping you up on everythin going on in our life :)  We look forward to hearing from you!

Garrett is almost 10 months old. He is such a busy boy, crawling around anywhere he wants. It won't be long before he starts walking, he already pulls up and cruises around the coffee table.
